da spicy bet: Former England defender Danny Mills believes that Danny Rose could be attempting to force a move away from Tottenham Hotspur under Jose Mourinho, per Football Insider.
What’s he said?
da pinup bet: The left-back has been a vocal presence this term and not in a good way.
He has confirmed that he intends to see out his contract, which expires at the end of next season, and has also said that he has yet to have a conversation with Mourinho over his future.
And Mills believes that he could be poking the bear with his comments as he bids to find a move away from the club.
He said: “I think we’ve seen in the past, taking Mourinho on is not a very good idea in any way shape or form.
“Maybe if you’re the top player at the football club and you’re the first name on the teamsheet scoring 25 goals a season, you’ve got half a chance.

“If you’re a second-choice left-back at the moment, not in great form, coming back from injury, running your contract down, it’s not going to go well for you, simple as that.
“Maybe he’s trying to force a move out early, maybe he’s looking at it thinking I’m surplus to requirements, Mourinho doesn’t really fancy me as the left-back and therefore I’ll try to force a move elsewhere.
“And I’ll try to make it look like it’s Mourinho’s fault, rather than my own.”

Better he leaves
At this point, one has to think it would be better for Spurs if Rose left the club.
He’s been outspoken in the past, of course, in a truly excellent way, opening up on his mental health struggles in a brave, admirable interview.
But, since then, he’s been nothing but trouble. As Mills says, he is clearly not seen as Mourinho’s first-choice.
He has played just 15 Premier League minutes under the Portuguese, against West Ham, and was not even in the squad for the win over Wolves.
If Mills is right and he is looking for a way out, this isn’t the best way to go about it but, nevertheless, if it sees Spurs move him on, it’s a no-lose situation for the club.
Meanwhile, Daniel Levy is set to block one man’s exit from Spurs.
