da esoccer bet: Crystal Palace fans underwent something of a turnaround of opinion on Christian Benteke throughout their club’s 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
da apostaganha: The Belgium international was not on the scoresheet against the Eagles’ local rivals but he did provide a vital assist, threading a superb through ball to Jordan Ayew, who slotted the ball under Mathew Ryan.
Benteke only managed to have one shot on target throughout the game, though, and missed a gilt-edged chance in the first few minutes of the game, failing to connect with a volley in the fourth minute and spurning the opportunity to score only his second goal of the season.
Supporters, naturally, were quick to criticise him after such a missed opportunity.
Did he really play for us?! No Palace fan has managed to name all of these obscure Eagles signings….
However, there were a number of fans who were later impressed with his assist at the AMEX Stadium.
Perhaps it simply goes to prove that goals aren’t exactly all that he offers and he was given a good reception from Eagles fans on 87 minutes, as he was substituted for Cenk Tosun.
Benteke’s only goal of the season came against Everton earlier this month but his match-changing intervention on Saturday saw Roy Hodgson’s men climb to 12th.
Meanwhile, these men should have caught Palace’s eye!
