da bet nacional: With just one centre forward at their disposal, Leeds United need a striker.
da betway: Luckily, they’ve got plenty of time and plenty of names on their list of players who could come through the door at Elland Road this month.
Indeed, the Whites have reportedly been looking at the possibility of signing the likes of Billy Sharp, Che Adams, Dwight Gayle and Sam Cosgrove, but it may be time to cross two of those names off the list.

Unfortunately, the two players that Leeds need to disregard had the potential of being brilliant additions as they both netted more than 20 Championship goals last term.
Of course, we’re talking about Adams and Gayle.
It’s a shame, but United simply can’t afford to bow to the demands of Newcastle and Southampton. Both clubs are seemingly after an initial loan move with an obligation to buy at the end of the season as per Beren Cross’ Q&A on LeedsLive.
The Magpies apparently want £20m for Gayle, and while there was no fee attached to the Adams report it’s hard to imagine that he’d be cheap as the Saints paid £15m for his services just a few months ago. Leeds simply can’t afford to take the risk and they also can’t really afford it financially.
Signing Gayle would immediately boost their chances of promotion as he’s brilliant at this level, netting 47 goals in his past two Championship terms, but £20m for him would land them in FFP trouble if they didn’t go up.
Not only that, but it’d be a waste of money if they did earn promotion. The Newcastle man hasn’t been able to make the step up to the top-flight scoring just 21 goals in 107 Premier League appearances.
Adams is another gamble and hasn’t scored since last April. There’s no guarantee that dropping down to the Championship would see him rediscover his form, and if Leeds were promoted he’d be back to square one. Like Gayle, he seemingly can’t cut it in the top-flight, failing to score a single goal for Southampton since his arrival.
Meanwhile, one Leeds man’s Elland Road career could be under threat if United complete a signing.
