da doce: Manchester United huffed and puffed but couldn’t register all three points against Stoke City at Old Trafford.
da bet esporte: The game looked to be heading for a goalless draw before substitute Anthony Martial curled in the opener with just 20 minutes remaining, but Joe Allen struck a late equaliser for the visitors to ensure the Potters avoided defeat at Old Trafford for the first time since 1980.
Lee Grant was the man keeping Stoke in the game during the first 45 minutes and he pulled off a string of saves in the second to ensure Stoke still had a chance of getting something.
Man United, though, struggled to find a way past Grant and seemed to run out of answers before Martial came to the rescue.
A draw was probably a fair result in the end, and these five photos perfectly sum up how Man United crumbled and threw away their chance to go 2nd in the Premier League…
Still no room for Rooney…

He was eventually introduced alongside Anthony Martial in the second half and both combined shortly after to give United the lead.
Super Sub…
Man United were running out of ideas before Anthony Martial came off the bench to curl in the opener. It was a neat finish and one that got him off the mark for the season.
Welsh Xavi/Pirlo
Joe Allen silenced the Old Trafford crowd in the 82nd minute after he capitalised on some woeful goalkeeping from David De Gea.
The Wales international’s goal meant Stoke would leave Old Trafford with a point for the first time since 1980.
Man of the Match
If it wasn’t for Stoke gloveman Lee Grant, Man United would’ve won this one comfortably.
In only his second ever Premier League appearance, Grant pulled off eight brilliant saves to deny Man United and was deservedly named Man of the Match.
Dejected
Two fans sit looking dejected at the full-time whistle, which pretty much sums up the feeling at United right now.
A win would’ve seen Jose Mourinho’s men close the gap on leaders Man City but instead, a single point meant they just leapfrogged Chelsea in to sixth.
