da bet7: Samir Nasri is one of English football’s great enigmas. Stunning at his best, a fine creator and troublesome dribbler, Nasri has provided some of the very best individual displays in recent memory in English football.
da imperador bet: His time at Arsenal saw him become a villain in North London, though, as he moved to Manchester City for a substantial fee.
Since Pep Guardiola’s arrival at Manchester City, it has been clear that Nasri plays no meaningful part in first team plans. The Frenchman has been an inconsistent performer – often blighted by niggling injuries – at the Citizens and it seems his time has come for a career change.
A move abroad has always seemed the most likely outcome for Nasri, despite many of his best years being in the hustle and bustle of English football. What next for the former Marseille man?
Could a move to one of these Premier League teams be in the offing?
Everton
Ronald Koeman loves a wide playmaker. Dusan Tadic was his main creative force during his time at Southampton, to prove this point.
Despite fiddling with different shapes already at Everton, adding a player of Nasri’s ability would be a brilliant signing to gee up Goodison Park. The fans demand bigger names and Nasri, for all his flaws, is certainly that.
Whether used as a bit part player or integral cog in the squad, the Frenchman would offer a different attacking approach that the Toffees might find handy later in the year.
Crystal Palace
Now that Super Alan Pardew has signed both Loic Remy and Christian Benteke, the sky must surely be the limit.
With Remy quite likely to play from a wide role in the absence of Yannick Bolasie, the Eagles have a front line to strike fear in to any opposition. The consistently improving Wilfried Zaha will provide a threat from wide areas too, as he continues to impress.
Nasri might not be a typical, fast-transition creator, but the gifted attacking midfielder would be a stellar addition for Pardew’s side. If they are to show genuine ambition to compete in the top half, players like Nasri need to become regular, realistic targets.
Stoke City
Despite the quality of Bojan Krkic and Xherdan Shaqiri, Stoke are still short of creative depth in the final third. Bojan has been in and out of the side as he struggles to find form on a regular basis, whilst Shaqiri has never been more than a game or two away from a niggling injury that keeps him out of the side.
Whether Nasri played in a narrow position from the right or in a more central, influential number ten role, he would bring another sprinkling of class to an already exciting Stoke side.
Depth is all important in keeping consistency throughout a Premier League season, and that is something Stoke have fundamentally failed to do.
