da winzada777: As reported by Sky Sports, Rangers are almost ready to announce who will be the local man to help Pedro Caixinha build a future at Ibrox.
What’s the story?
da bet7k: Caixinha has been at the club for less than a month but is already making progress in assembling the team to help him close the gap on Celtic over the next 12 months.
Rangers Managing Director Stewart Robertson has revealed that an announcement will be made shortly on who Caixinha has chosen to join his backroom staff. He also reiterated whoever arrives at the club will have been chosen by the Portuguese, a sign that the new boss has authority at Ibrox.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Robertson said:
He is doing the interviews, it is absolutely his appointment. He is the guy who will be working with the successful candidate so it is important that he can build the relationship and build the trust there. There has been various interviews held, there are some more still to be held and I don’t want to put a time frame on that, but it shouldn’t be too much longer before we can make an announcement on that front.
That’s likely to be music to Rangers supporters’ ears, who are eagerly awaiting the appointment. It’s thought that Caixinha wants someone local to the Scottish football scene to help him better understand the culture and Rangers way of life, meaning club legends like Barry Ferguson have been linked with the role.
Whoever it is will know the size of the task at hand, Rangers are far behind the Hoops right now and need significant improvement and investment if they are to get close to Brendan Rodgers’ men next season.
