da gbg bet: Former Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye is now a free agent after he was released from his contract with UAE side Al Nasr, following the appointment of Spanish boss Benat San Jose in the managerial hotseat – two other foreign players have been let go as well after the club’s poor start to the season.
The French international played for the Magpies between 2011 and 2014 and was a huge hit on Tyneside having signed in a £4m deal from Lille.
The 33-year-old scored 17 goals in 79 Premier League appearances under Alan Pardew before a big money move to PSG cut his time in black and white short.
Seeing as most supporters feel the move happened mainly due to Mike Ashley’s satisfaction at cashing in his prize assets, whilst also reserving some blame for Pardew as ever, Cabaye is still held in high regard by the Magpies’ fans.
So, following his release, would you like to see Cabaye back at St James Park on a free? It would certainly make Ashley happy given how cheap the deal would be…
