Tammy Abraham’s brilliance in attack – he is the joint-top Premier League scorer with eight goals – has seen the former Arsenal man’s game time limited, with another Palace target in Michy Batshuayi usually the preferred option off the bench.
Giroud, 33, has started just one game this season – against Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup. Impressively, he did manage to score in his one and only start this term, although it appears that he is after regular game time rather than a few minutes here and there.
Intriguingly, the report says that the former Montpellier forward would only cost the Eagles £3m, which would see the Blues record a huge loss on the £18m they spent on him in January 2018 – he has also earned £110k-a-week since signing.
