da esoccer bet: Patrick Bamford may be one of the most misunderstood strikers in the entirety of the Football League.
There’s a certain section of supporters who jump on his back after every match, while others believe that he’s the best thing since sliced bread.
After another polarising performance on Saturday against Sheffield Wednesday, fans once again took to Twitter to discuss the 26-year-old.

Firmino comparisons
Once again, Bamford’s defenders jumped to his aid, and this time they were making some really outlandish comparisons.
Indeed, one supporter drew parallels between the Leeds man and Champions League winner Roberto Firmino, with others quick to get on board with that sentiment.
Of course, the stats can allow you to misread what a footballer’s game is actually about, and these comparisons between Bamford and Firmino are incredibly misplaced.
Ridiculous
Drawing parallels between the two players are simply ridiculous.
Yes, Bamford does a lot of work away from what a natural striker does, and he’s vital to the pressing style that Marcelo Bielsa wants to play, but his role isn’t even close to being similar to Firmino’s.
Not only is Bamford expected to do a lot of work for Bielsa’s side, he’s also expected to be the primary source of goals – hence why he has more shots per game than any other United player.

Firmino simply isn’t relied upon in that manner as he has two Golden Boot winning wingers alongside him to put the ball in the net. Leeds simply don’t have that available to them – Helder Costa and Jack Harrison have scored just once between them in the league.
While it can be said that Bamford’s work would be a lot more appreciated if he had two goalscoring wingers alongside him, that just isn’t the case right now.
In Marcelo Bielsa’s system he should be scoring more goals, and there’s no getting away from that.
