da dobrowin: Victor Orta says that Leeds are gearing up for a quiet January transfer window, but it seems as though things could change if players depart the club in the coming weeks.
da stake casino: Speaking after the win over Birmingham Marcelo Bielsa revealed that one twist could see the Whites dip their toes into the market next month.
What’s been said then?
The manager’s press conference was covered by The Athletic in a post-match Q&A session and he was asked about the upcoming January transfer window.
Providing his thoughts, the Argentine said the following:
“We analyse this week to week. We need to know what’s going to happen with Eddie. We have to think about another player instead of Clarke. We have to analyse those two decisions. If both of them continued with us, we weren’t going to incorporate anyone else.
“Now that Clarke is no more with us, we have to think about if it’s necessary to replace him. In the case that Eddie doesn’t stay, we have to think about one more signing for sure.”
Good and bad
This update could be taken as either a positive or a negative.
Firstly, it seems as if Orta was telling the truth when he said that the January transfer window would be a quiet one, but as we all know, plans can change.
It’s a bit of a negative to see that Leeds weren’t originally looking to sign anyone this winter as many fans blamed a lack of investment last January on their late capitulation, so it’s a shame to see the club potentially falling into the same trap.
That being said, profit and sustainability regulations held Leeds back last summer and they may well be bound to the same restrictions when the window opens again in a matter of hours.
On the other hand, at least they won’t be settling with just Patrick Bamford up top if Eddie Nketiah is recalled by Arsenal. However, it still remains to be seen who they go for if the 20-year-old departs Elland Road.
In other news, Leeds fans have been slamming one of their players.
