The chances of Cesc Fabregas moving from Arsenal to Barcelona have increased after the recently crowned La Liga champions confirmed they hoped to sign the Spain international midfielder this summer.
Barcelona vice-president Rafael Yuste has revealed that Barca hope to sign Valencia striker and Gunners captain Fabregas shortly as they look to bolster their squad.
Yuste told Catalonian radio station Ona FM:"Negotiations are progressing well, especially in the case of Villa.
"The situation with Cesc is different because, even if you have the will of the player, it is very important to talk to his club and, if you can, find an agreement.
"But what makes it easier is that both players want to come to Barca."
Fabregas moved to Arsenal from Barcelona in 2003 after coming through the youth team ranks at the Camp Nou.
He has gone on to play 267 matches for Arsene Wenger's team, finding the net 48 times.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
